posted 06/09/2009 Another successful Verona Lacrosse spring season has come to an end - thank you to all the players, parents, and coaches for a great season!
We hope everyone enjoyed the great game of lacrosse.
As a growing organization, the Verona Lacrosse League is already starting to plan for the rest of this year and the 2010 season. In an effort to provide a fuller and more enriched program, we need more folks to step forward and lend a hand. Please consider becoming one of the individuals who help bring the game of lacrosse to our children by assisting in one or more of the following areas:
Most importantly, we need more people who are willing to be either a Coach or an Assistant Coach.
Coaching is a hugely rewarding job. The kids are great, you have the opportunity to teach a great game as well as help shape our children into the young adults we are all hoping them to be. If you don't have any experience with lacrosse, and you think being a head coach may be too much for you, then consider becoming an assistant coach. Below are other positions that we need to fill.
Registration Coordinator - Coordinating the onsite Rec Sign up, following up on registration checks, coordinating the distribution of registration announcements to the schools.
Equipment/Uniform Manager - Organizing the uniforms by team, checking on overall condition of uniforms, inventory of equipment, ordering new uniforms and equipment.
Web Master/Master Scheduler - Updating the website for roster updates, announcements, and maintaining the master and team schedules on the website.
US Lacrosse Membership Administrator - coordinate registration of coaches and players with US Lacrosse
Jamboree Coordinator - Plan, organize the annual Lacrosse Jamboree
Verona Lacrosse Wear Coordinator - Advertise, take orders, order and then distribute Verona Lacrosse wear (fund raising)
Verona Lacrosse has reserved time on Centennial field this summer and fall (check out
www.veronalacrosse.org for dates and times) for both boys and girls to practice and maintain the skills gained this past spring - coaches are needed to help during these sessions.
If you would be willing to help the organization grow in 2010, please get in touch with any of the undersigned Trustees - any and all help is welcome!
Again, thank you for participating in, and supporting, Verona Lacrosse.
Sincerely,
Verona Lacrosse League Trustees
